(ie a thermal snowsuit, goggles, a beacon, and gloves)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you want to go off-trail or on a trail?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How long of a trip would you like to go on? <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of the shops in town, up at Togwotee Pass, in West Yellowstone, and at Flagg Ranch will rent you a full bodysuit set-up that will keep you warm throughout the day. We would recommend that you wear several layers so you can adjust your warmth throughout the day. Goggles, gloves, a warm hat and warm boots are essential. It is also especially important to have an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oerentals.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">avalanche beacon, probe, and shovel<\/a> if you plan to go off trail without a guide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1569 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jacksonhole.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/snowmobiles-2108769_960_720-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"snowmobiling tours in yellowstone\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonhole.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/snowmobiles-2108769_960_720-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.jacksonhole.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/snowmobiles-2108769_960_720-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.jacksonhole.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/snowmobiles-2108769_960_720.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>In Jackson Hole, there are snowmobiling tours both in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snowmobilingtours.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Yellowstone National Park <\/a>and in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scenic-safaris.com\/winter-jackson-wy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bridger National Forest<\/a>. You can also travel outside of the valley to more open spaces near Bondurant, Alpine, and over in Teton Valley, Idaho. If you would like a faster, on-trail tour with the potential to see natural geological features and wildlife, we would recommend a tour to Yellowstone. If you are looking to go off-trail and to play around in the snow at a slower pace, we would recommend going on a tour in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/btnf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bridger-Teton National Forest<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. There\u2019s also an option to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonholefun.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rent your own<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> snowmobiles and travel to Granite Hot Springs or tour around up at Togwotee Pass. If you choose option 3, make sure you have some understanding of avalanches and safe pitches to travel on before you go. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Y<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1572 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jacksonhole.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/buffalo-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonhole.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/buffalo-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.jacksonhole.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/buffalo-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.jacksonhole.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/buffalo.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>ellowstone snowmobile tours are full day excursions and will include a lunch break up at Old Faithful (a reliable geyser in the park that goes off roughly every 1 \u00bd -2 hours). There are also overnight trips up in Yellowstone which can truly be a magical experience. The ability to potentially see buffalo, wolves and other little creatures increase dramatically in Yellowstone, although there is potential to see wildlife up at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.togwoteelodge.com\/snowmobiling\/togwotee-pass-snowmobiling-experience\/snowmobile-rentals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Togwotee Pass<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as well. At Togwotee Pass, there are a handful of companies that run day tours and you can also rent snowmobiles for \u00bd days. There is also a wide variety of skill levels and the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.togwoteelodge.com\/snowmobiling\/togwotee-pass-snowmobiling-experience\/trail-riding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Togwotee Mountain Lodge<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will set you up with the right trail for your skill level. This lodge also has several packaged deals, allowing you to do a multi-night stay. You can always throw a backpack on the tail of the machine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Layer up. Weather in Jackson Hole can change quickly so be prepared.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check the weather and the avalanche report. Getting to play in fresh, new snow is the best!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plan your snowmobile trip to Yellowstone far in advance. There are a limited number of permits to this pristine magical place in the winter! <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Snowmobiling tours in Jackson Hole\u00a0are a great way to take a break from the fresh powdery skiing we have (if you want one).
