You\u2019re a natural on the black diamonds and know how to get around Jackson when you have your skis on, but when you take off your gear you might need some help or advice getting from place to place. Don\u2019t worry Jackson is not a giant metropolis, but you\u2019ll still be able to utilize several types of transportation for getting out and about, and none of them have to include hanging off the back of a dog sled unless you really want to.<\/p>\n

When you arrive at the airport if you don\u2019t have any transportation lined up you can easily catch a cab into town or wherever you are headed. Taxis will be lined up out front and ready and willing to take you wherever you need to go. A fare to Jackson should cost about $35 for one to two people. A ride out to Teton Village, WY will set you back about $60 for one to two people or another $5 for a third person. Expect additional charges for extra passengers.<\/p>\n

There is also a shuttle at the airport provided by AllTrans<\/a> (307-733-3135 or jacksonholealltrans.com) as another option to get to town or out to Teton Village, WY. A ride into Jackson will cost $16 per person one-way or $31 for a round trip. If you are going to Teton Village it\u2019s $29 per person one-way or $50 round trip.<\/p>\n

If you need to arrive in style and require a limo or an executive car service there are several great options to choose from: Limo Lounge<\/a> (307-690-7555), Mountain Resort Services<\/a> (307-733-1112), The Driver Provider<\/a> (307-733-4629) or UVC Limo Service<\/a> (307-699-7776).<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t want to rely on others for your travel needs, you can always rent a car for your stay. There are three rental car companies located at the airport. Avis<\/a> (307-733-9224), Hertz <\/a>(307-733-2272), and Enterprise<\/a>  (307-733-7066). Make sure you call ahead or check online before you go to find the best deals. There are also several rental companies in town if you decide later on that you need to rent a car: Dollar<\/a> (307-733-9224), Thrifty<\/a> (307-734-8312), National<\/a> (307-733-0671), Alamo<\/a> (307-733-0671), and Leisure Sports <\/a>(307-733-3040). Make sure you check around for availability and pricing.<\/p>\n

You won\u2019t find a subway in town so your public transportation options come down to the local bus system. The Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit or START Bus<\/a> for short will get you where you need to go in town as it services routes within Jackson, out to Teton Village as well as routes to Star Valley, WY and Teton County, ID. Rides within the Jackson town limits and north of town to the National Museum of Wildlife Art are free for all ages. A one-way ride out to Teton Village is $3 for adults, ages 8 and under free. Make sure to have the exact fare, since drivers can\u2019t make change. Go to startbus.com<\/a> for a list of bus schedules and for more information.<\/p>\n

If you want to go for a walk and stretch your legs or pedal your way around town Jackson boasts 42 miles of connected multi-use pathways. If you venture into Grand Teton National Park you\u2019ll find another 14 miles set aside for bikers and pedestrians to use. Jackson offers visitors a number of ways to get around town. Your chance to ride in a horse drawn sleigh will have to unfortunately wait until the snow starts flying.
